Heliconia indica ‘Rubra’

Heliconia indica ‘Rubra’, is a tropical plant prized for its stunning and vibrant inflorescence. Characterised by large, erect bracts in striking shades of red, the plant adds a bold splash of colour to any tropical garden. 

It should be noted that this Heliconia is not as easy to grow as the more common varieties available. It generally doesn’t grow south of Brisbane unless in a  warm, sheltered micro climate. If the temptation of owning a truely unique Heliconia is too hard resist, then we suggest give it a go!

Position: Part sun to warm shade, sheltered position

Grows to Height: Approx 2.5m to 3.5m
